Chemical repellents (e.g. moth rounds, sulfur candle lights, ammonia) are typically ineffective for excluding bats from buildings. Bats may be temporarily evicted by using these repellents but they are most likely to return after the chemical has actually dissipated. Additionally, pesticides (e.g. Rozal, chlorodane, lindane, and so on) commonly sicken bats prior to killing them, and seldom is the application effective.
