The wide variability in terms of the needed education and learning for psychiatric service technicians can create much complication for workers seeking to enter the field. In some states, workers require just a senior high school education with some post-secondary training in order to work as a psychological service technician. In various other states, accreditation is called for while, in still other states, an associate's level and qualification is called for. Yet other states, consisting of California, Colorado, Kansas, as well as Arkansas, require licensure in order to function as a psychological service technician.
